A recent study done by Consumer Reports found that good fuel economy is the number one factor car shoppers look at when they are purchasing a vehicle surpassing quality, safety, value and performance.
In the survey fuel efficiency beat out the next closest consideration, quality, by 20 percent with 37 percent of those surveyed saying it’s their primary concern.
The report also found that more and more consumers are driving less and making the transition from larger vehicles to smaller ones, with large SUV owners being the most open to downsizing, often planning to move to a smaller SUV.
With the rising cost of gas prices it’s no wonder car shoppers are choosing fuel efficiency over everything else and this is good news for automakers specifically targeting fuel economy like Nissan.
