Many drivers tend to neglect their tire pressure until their tires are much lower than they should be. But having proper tire pressure benefits both car and driver as it can help keep your car safe and help to save fuel. The technology for monitoring tire pressure has been around for a while but Nissan has taken it to the next level.
With the new technology your car will first tell you when your tire pressure is too low. When you are filling your tire, the four-way flashers will blink to inform you air is going in and then when the right pressure is reached the horn will sound quickly. If the pressure level is too high, the horn will honk three times.
Vishnu Jayamohan, a Nissan employee, says of this new technology that “It’s one of those simple slap your forehead moments, as to why someone has not thought of it before.” The new technology will make its debut in the new 2013 Nissan Altima.
